Already in the early nineties, he laid a solid foundation for becoming one of the most recognised German blues guitarists today, almost 25 years later. This is followed by the Sonny Boy Williamson classic ‘Help Me’, which grooves so wonderfully that you can't sit still. The modulation range of Carroll's voice seems limitless. And then Carroll sings the ballad ‘I Wonder Why’, a composition by Bernreuther. The expressiveness of her vocals is enormous; it cannot be described, it must be heard. I loved and sang along to I Like the Likes of You, Moonlight in Vermont, You Go to My Head, and so many others. The music provided the perfect backdrop for a childhood marked by my father’s adventurous and joyful spirit. Having lost him three years ago I feel in many ways, he is behind this project, and so I dedicate this to my always colorful and forever, complicated father.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOnce I had the idea to do an album of these songs, I ran it by my husband and Executive Producer, Joseph Cali, whose enthusiasm meant so much to me. The string arrangements were created by Lieberman and Stefanie Fife, with the exception of a song by the Dutch songwriter, Daniël Lohues, (with an English translation by Lieberman and recording artist, Stéphanie Struijk), and arranged by Netherlands’ Reinout Douma.\u0026nbsp;\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eOne of the unique songs on this Album, “Empty Chairs” is a cover of the Don McLean song that he originally performed in 1971 at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. Lori Lieberman was about to release her first album for Capitol Records but needed one more song. She attended the show that night at the Troubadour and was so moved by Don’s song that she wrote a poem on a napkin that became the inspiration for her manager \/ songwriter \/producers to write the song “Killing Me Softly” which Lori recorded to complete her album and released as a single. Without “Empty Chairs” there would have been no “Killing Me Softly” and Lori has recorded it here on this new collection with a beautiful string arrangement she composed.
