After more than 40 years, Monty Alexander returned on Friday, December 12, 2025, to a very special place: the legendary MPS Studio in Villingen, where he recorded some of his albums in the 1970s. It was a visit full of memories.
Together with the lucky Südkurier winners, we then continued on to the Revox factory. We had the great pleasure of personally welcoming Monty Alexander and his wife, jazz singer Caterina Zapponi, as well as the other guests, and giving them a tour of our own tape production and tape deck manufacturing facilities.
An absolutely spine-tingling moment: Monty Alexander heard his own master tape Montreux Alexander for the first time on the new Revox B77 MK III Stereo Tape Recorder. It was an analog sound experience in a class of its own that left a lasting impression on him.
The crowning glory of his stay in Villingen was his magnificent live concert on Saturday, December 13, at the Neue Tonhalle, where he and his band thrilled the audience.
