Martin Vatter - Homeland
Martin Vatter Plays Soulful Piano
An emotional, passionate and profound tribute to my homeland. Perfectly recorded with a Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand piano of wonderful and charismatic sound.
Piano music that touches your soul ...
“This album is an emotional, passionate and profound tribute to my homeland. Yet I do not want to speak just for myself with my music. Every person has a homeland and connects with the very personal memories and feelings. Unfortunately a lot of people cannot live in their homeland or return to it any time without any danger. The present floods of refugees speak for themselves. With regard to current events, I dedicate my compositions "FORCED TO FLEE MY HOMELAND" and "YOUR TEARS WILL DRY" to all refugees, who had to or still have to leave their homeland for various reasons.
This recording was made in the legendary MPS studio in Villingen with the wonderful sounding original "Bösendorfer Imperial" concert grand piano from 1979, where Friedrich Gulda and Oscar Peterson, among others, recorded their highly acclaimed albums here. It was also used the original microphones and the identical microphone arrangement as back then.
I wish you a lot of joy and touching moments with my music.”

Claus Müller audio tape review
„(…) Martin Vatter's music is as wide-ranging and rich as the concept of home is multifaceted. It encourages an examination of this concept, of love for special places, of longing, of security, of happiness, of memory. It is about family, relatives and friends and, in contrast, also about flight and displacement, about dealing with conflicts. Every person carries a universe of thoughts in their head and interprets the concept of home differently. In the course of the following interview, I asked Martin Vatter to go into more detail about the individual songs.(…)“
