Singers Unlimited - Christmas 26.5 cm
"You should always be wary of simply throwing superlatives around, but with the Singers Unlimitedalbum Christmas, you just can't get by without them!" That was the general tenor of music critics towards the album, first released in 1972.Even today, this recording of a cappella Christmas classics stands far out from the crowd. This form of perfection, with its unerring intonation, vocal intensity, jazz-like feeling and sophisticated arrangement as well as its technical implementation, is tough to match even now.
The recordings are now available in unprecedented sound quality. The original analogue recordings from 1972 form the basis of Christoph Stickel's unobtrusive "refurbishing" which aims to avoid any artistic intervention. You, the valued listener, will be transported back into the sound engineer's chair at the time of recording.
