In a historic merger of two icons of music and audio technology, Yello and Revox are launching the B77 MKII Yello Edition Tape Machine - a synergy of technological milestone and musical masterpiece.
Revox B77 MKII Yello Edition: A landmark in audio technology
The B77 MK II, known for its outstanding fidelity and sustainable construction, is not just a tape machine; it is a symbol of audiophile excellence. In a masterful collaboration with Yello, Revox has exquisitely restored ten of these legendary machines, renewing, refining and customizing components. Every detail, from the precisely manufactured heads to the carefully calibrated motors, has been perfected in the Revox factory to ensure an unparalleled sound experience as well as a unique visual highlight.
**A design that writes history**
The Yello Edition of this tape machine is presented in an exclusive design that captures the essence of Yello's music while reflecting the technical brilliance of Revox. Each machine is not only an audiophile masterpiece, but also a visual work of art that brings to life the era in which Yello and Revox created their groundbreaking innovations.
The B77 MKII Tape Machine was built from 1980-1998. A true classic and milestone in the audio world, like its predecessor the MKI. The B77 MKII is equipped with built-in sound motor control (Vari-Speed Control) and revised audio and drive electronics. The B77 Yello Limited has been created with special care and the use of special materials to create a completely unique product.
In addition to the standard version with speeds of 9.5/19 cm/s, the following models were available: B77-HS with 19/38 cm/s (high speed), B77-LS with 4.75/9.5 cm/s (low speed), B77-SLS with 2.38/4.75 cm/s (super low speed for monitoring tasks), B77-AUT0 with automatic recording start and three variants with additional pilot head for simple to sophisticated slide projector control. B77-Synch Tape Machines had a clock track amplifier for professional synchronous recordings from the recording head. Finally, the B77-DOL offered separate Dolby TM-B processors for recording and playback (i.e. "dolbysized backband control) for the highest sound-to-noise ratios (19 cm/s, half track, better than 74 dB).
Preserving value for generations: And even today, a B77 Tape Machine can be integrated into the latest Revox multiuser system, for example, and can even be controlled via the Revox app. Because sustainability is important to us.
As a manufacturer, we have been overhauling our Revox devices with original spare parts for decades. The B77 MKII Yello Limited Edition has undergone a very special refurbishment. All sound heads have been replaced with new ones and all motors have been given a special overhaul and adjustment.
